was founded in 1932 in Madras. They say they 'hit the heart of the issue without fear or favour' and their slogan is 'Journalism of Courage'. There are now multiple editions and content online is translated into 5 other languages (Tamil, Bangla, Malayalam, Hindi and Marathi).

In 1999 the paper split into two entities, the northern titles remaining as The Indian Express while the Southern editions became The New Indian Express. The Indian Express is based in Noida in the north of the country. They have a social presence on Facebook, twitter and Instagram.

There is also focused content about what is trending, which includes some debunking and there is a daily podcast which has covered stories including the Facebook papers.
