Reading University band broken jack have returned to campus not just with more books to read but with a new EP. Find out more below what these students-cum-rockers have been up to.

broken jack are returning to the scene after some time off working on a new EP and demo. They have now finished recording and are producing their seven-track EP with Rob Bloomfield (Rebus) at Bleeding Ear Studios, Reading. It is set for release in November.

The band played a fantastic gig last Saturday at The Louisiana in Bristol, and also have many upcoming gigs, details as follows:

Tuesday 1 November - The Rhythm Factory, LondonTuesday 15 November - The Purple Turtle, ReadingSaturday 19 November - Oxford Brookes UniversityMonday 5 December - 3Sixty, Reading University (Rock Idols Battle Of The Bands)Wednesday 7 December - The Fez Club, Reading (supporting My Awesome Compilation)

There will also be a headline gig at Reading University, most likely in November, the date is still TBA.

The band are currently in discussion with several independent and major record and management companies, who have taken a massive interest in the band over the last few months. The band will be promoting their new EP and demo massively so expect to hear more about it in the future!"

They're playing at Brookes! I'm from Reading and go to Brookes! Wicked... saw them when I visited a friend at Reading Uni a couple of years back, they must be even better by now!

Good to see this band return to the scene, I remember seeing them at Colorz earlier this year and they were awesome. Just listened to the stuff on their MySpace site - well impressed!
