As well known for their Glaswegian heritage as for their up-beat, urban-desi flavours, Tigerstyle have set a standard within the British Asian music industry for sleek music production, fresh sounding beats and original flavour.

Tigerstyle's Raj and Popps trained in various forms of Punjabi folk music and instrumentation, but the influence of Dre and Ice Cube' Hip Hop and Western vibes banged hard at their ear drums. Traditional beats naturally fused with Western sounds, providing a soundtrack to the clashes inherent in the British Asian identity.

Intent on speeding up the movement of Bhangra across the Highlands, the pair first set up in 1997 as the DJs Desi Bombsquad Sound System, but it was in 2000 with the release of their now 'essential' album The Rising, that Tigerstyle stormed on to the scene. Revitalising the Bhangra industry's sampling trends The Rising injected refreshed verve and flair on to the scene. 'Nachna Onde Nei', a wholly original melding of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' and Vanilla Ice's 'Ice Ice Baby' remains a classic track.

Following the EP Extended Play and album Virsa, from which the club anthem 'Domey Nachiyeh' was used in the Â鶹Éç Asian Network's TV advertising campaign, the boys left Kissmet Records and moved to Creative Pursuits Ltd. Mix Tape Vol.1 was followed by Vol. 2, hitting the UK in 2004. The dance floor filler, 'Ishq Nagni' blew up worldwide. The album topped the Â鶹Éç Asian Network Album Chart for weeks and hit top position on Adil Ray's Desi Dance Floor Chart. Their album success heralded the start of a busy 2005 with tours as far flung as Dubai, Singapore and the US.

Now signed to Nachural records, Tigerstyle are currently locked away in the studio finishing off songs for their much anticipated album set for release later this summer.
