Louisiana is a remote farmstead in the Red Zone of Peru. While at the hacienda Matt B had a bad headache and started to feel very tired. He decided to rest and went to sleep during the afternoon. In the evening the team realised he was very ill and they all spent a very difficult night looking after him and organising an emergency evacuation from this remote location.
At first light a Peruvian police helicopter came to evacuate Matt, initially to an airfield at Palma Pampa. There he was transferred to an emergency aircraft to fly over the Andes to Lima. This footage shows the arrival of the helicopter on a patch of land that the crew had cleared to make a landing site. Almu the AP (who is a Spanish speaker), Zubin, the sound recordist (who is a friend of Matt's since childhood) and a local doctor go with Matt in the helicopter. Bruce and Matt N remain at the hacienda to organise things there before joining the rest of the crew in Lima as soon as they can.
