Barbie in a Box

Contributed by Antiques Roadshow - Beverley

This was given to the contributor in 1960, the year after Barbie was 'born', when she was 5. The fashions depicted on the box show that Barbie was at the forefront of chic from the start. This doll was played with by the contributor all through her childhood and was her only doll - children had many fewer toys in those days.
