Shortly after we moved into our house we discovered this document sealed in a beam. The house was built in 1585. The document cosists of 3 hand written lines.
The first, in Latin says 'in the name of the father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
More interestingly the 3rd line repeats this in Welsh showing that Welsh was used in this area as early as 16th century.
The 2nd line consists of upper case alphabetic characters and it is a mystery what their significance is.
The area has strong Roman Catholic connections - Coughton Court and Havington Hall. Are they code?
Feckenham is in the Domesday book and sits on a Roman road - The Saltway linking Droitwich and Alcester.
