Tin of Coffee from 1940s

This Home and Colonial tin contains vacuum-packed coffee and dates from the 1940s. It was found in the contributor's great aunt's house. The tin shows a classic post war design. Home and Colonial was a popular chain of stores during the 1920s, and was founded in 1883 by Julius Drewe in 1883. Stores such as Liptons merged with Home and Colonial and by 1931 there were 3,000 branches.
