Royal Victoria Hospital badge

This is my mother's hospital badge from when she worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast in the early 1950s. This was just after the NHS came in. AS you can see if has her maiden name on the back of it - D. G. Stephenson (Dorothy Gwendoline). The badge is made from silver - this was in the days when the NHS could afford real silver badges for their staff. My mother stayed at the Royal Victoria until 1954 when she got married. Once you married you had to give up your job! Shortly afterwards they moved to the Bahamas where my father worked as a teacher.
