This coin was presented to me some ten years ago by my father Bill Kings, a local, (Bromsgrove) historian. The family story is that it was handed down through the Kings family, my great grandfather being the last in the line of family Nailmakers. The Truck coin was a method of payment used by Nail Masters in the Bromsgrove, Lye, Cradley Heath areas in return for nails produced. Could only be redeemed by purchasing nail iron or other goods from the Nail Master. So giving the Master total economic control over the nailmaker, only countered when the Nailworkers united in opposition. One example of the "White Slaves of England", (J Cobden).
