These two medals were awarded to a miner called Arthur Bobbet in 1947 for trying to save another miner's life. The miner had become trapped by a roof-fall. The medals are The Edward Medal for Gallantry and the Daily Herald Order of Industrial Heroism. Unfortunately Arthur himself died in a fall of roof before he could receive his medals and they were awarded to his widow who donated them to Abertillery and District Museum.
