A Vesta Case

This small portable silver case was made to hold matches - a Vesta case. With its striker on its base, it was a popular gentleman's accessory. This one is silver, was made in Birmingham and dates from 1906. It was the contributor's grandfather. Production was widespread between 1890 and1920.
