“Good bakey note: the baked rice flavour is gentle and rounded. Good oolong, with natural sweetness. Refreshing.”

“This is a beautiful oolong that is lovely, light and refreshing. The taste and aroma really reminds you of orchids. This is the tea I give to guests as they always say 'wow this is nice'”

GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2014 - GOLD STAR WINNER. This fine example of a Phoenix Dan Cong was skilfully hand-roasted to oxidize the leaf and develop the special layers of flavour unique to this variety of oolong - known as 'Mi Lan Xiang' or Orchid Nectar Aroma.
Picked in Chao An village in northern Guangdong. The leaves are harvested using ladders from tall ancient trees. This tea can be infused repeatedly but keep the infusion times short at first to allow successive brews to release its special depth of flavour. Best brewed gong fu style in gaiwan or a Yixing teapot in short infusions of 20 seconds and increase gradually. This tea was awarded a Gold Star at the prestigious Great Taste Awards 2014.
